On Monday 13th May, 2013 a CFL volunteer had the opportunity to attend an event entitled Launchpad for Venturepreneurs. This event took place in London and was hosted by Norton Rose. The event was organised by the Muslim Council of Britain and focussed on facilitating entrepreneurship within the Muslim community. The event had several key note speakers and there were a number of entrepreneurs who undertook presentations. Enterprise is an ever increasing important factor in helping revive economies in economical austere times. CFL have a particular focus on Social Enterprise and the wider benefits this type of business set up can have on communities. Social Enterprises reinvest surpluses back into their activities or use them for the purpose of benefiting society or local communities. CFL strongly believe that Social Enterprises can potentially assist grassroots communities to prosper. They can also help create jobs in economically and socially deprived communities and we believe the government should place a focussed emphasis on helping enterprise development in the most marginalised and fringe communities in the UK.
